John Salcido began his filmmaking career at 17 years old, as a freshman at Stanford University. While completing his degree in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing, he made several films with his now long-time producing partner, Neil Evans. This began, shortly following John’s earning of an MFA in Film Production from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinema-Television, the production entity that would eventually become B-Side Pictures. Under this banner, Salcido has directed several short films that have found success on the film festival circuit, including "Cataplexy," a microbudget comedy that took down festival giants en route to winning nearly twenty awards at over seventy festivals across the world. In addition to his film projects, Salcido enjoys a career producing and writing for cable and network television, most notably on three Emmy-winning series, including the long-running CBS hit "Undercover Boss."
