Additional Information

Georges Méliès, a professional magician by training, is considered the father of special effects. Charlie Chaplin described him as “the alchemist of light” and D.W. Griffith said “I owe him everything.” Melies made over 500 films during his lifetime (1861-1938), his most famous being A Trip to the Moon (1902). His story was featured in Martin Scorsese’s 2011 3D film, “Hugo”. He may have also inadvertently created the world’s first 3D film.
