“Life is sweet at the edge of a razor, and down in the front row of an old picture show.” Nowhere is the future more uncer- tain and inevitable than in this collection of beautiful shorts. A lonely man finds an unusual kinship with a neighbor in Daniel Fickle’s lovely, melodic A House, A Home (US 7 mins). A woman’s unusual business is beset by harsh economic realities in Staten Cousins-Roe’s very dark comedy This Way Out (UK 19 mins). George Takei narrates Eoin Duffy’s animated tale of a squirrel’s search for The Missing Scarf (Ireland 7 mins). A genocide survivor finds difficult answers and bitter reprisal in her search for an elusive man from her past in Antoneta Kastrati’s haunting She Comes in Spring (Kosovo/US 16 mins), and a woman examines her relationship with her father after a terrible accident in Sylvia Sether’s touching King of Norway (US 17 mins).
