
Educated at Stanford University (BA) and Sarah Lawrence College (MFA), Rohena Gera has worked in film and television for almost 20 years, starting her career at Paramount Pictures Literary Affairs office in 1996. She independently produced and directed a non-profit campaign called “Stop the Hatred” to fight communalism. As a screenwriter, she co-wrote
Kuch Na Kaho (2003) and
Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic (2008), as well as over 40 episodes of the TV series
Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin. She made her directorial debut with the documentary
What’s Love Got to Do with It? (2013).
Sir is her first fiction feature.
