
Born in Havana in 1961, Ernesto Daranas Serrano’s films as director and screenwriter include Los últimos gaiteros de La Habana (2004), winner of the King of Spain International Award for Journalism; Fallen Gods (2008), which was Cuba’s official submission for the Best Foreign Language Film for the Academy Awards®; Bluechacha (2012), nominated for the Latin Grammy® as Best Long Duration Music Video; and Conducta (2014), which was again selected by Cuba for the Foreign Language Oscar®.
