Moulin Rouge!

Century Cinema, Corte Madera Fri, Oct 7, 2016 7:30 PM

In celebration of the 15th Anniversary of Moulin Rouge!, plus the celestial aligning of its two stars being honored at this year’s Festival, we just couldn’t resist the opportunity to bring Baz Luhrman’s fin de siècle favorite back to the big screen. Revel in the romance between Ewan McGregor’s yearning poet Christian and Nicole Kidman’s enigmatic cabaret actress (and sometime courtesan) Satine, and the cinematic glory of Luhrman's decadently euphoric homage to the artists, dancers, and dreamers of Paris in 1900. John Leguizamo shines as a feisty, green-fairy fueled Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Luhrman packs this ‘Spectacular, Spectacular’ with indelible musical numbers, mashing up la Belle Époque with a swirling pastiche of modern pop hits. Join us for this special screening and observe: ‘the greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.’
